The Choice We Have, Forward or Backward?
Looking back, when GWB took office after an extremely contentious election in 2000, many Americans, 50% were not satisfied with the method the Supreme's used.
That said, we accepted the outcome, with the help of Al Gore's graceful speech.
Not long after 9/11 occurred, Americans united, most foreign countries joined.
Many gave GWB & his administration the benefit of the doubt.
Based on faulty info we invaded Iraq.
GWB promised Iraqis' would pay for this war, they would greet us with roses.
He broke those promises.
And was reelected, lets remember bin Laden released a video prior to the election.
GWB asked for TARP & Boehner went to the floor & cried, asking for support from HIS party. Nancy Pelosi was willing & able to help, for the good of the country!
On the second try, while GWB was in office, they passed TARP.
In 2008 Obama is elected.
The night he takes office many top level republicans, including McConnell & Paul Ryan were plotting to subvert his administration. To hell with America & Americans, their #1 priority, don't give Obama a second term.
At the time we were losing 750,000 - 800,000 jobs a month, the banking sector collapsed, mortgages a mess, auto industry on the brink & bin Laden still alive.
Yet, Republicans made Obama their priority, NOT Americans!
For the first time in our history they refused to lift the debt ceiling & our credit was downgraded.
Obama has kept the Bush tax cuts in order to get relief for unemployed Americans, he allowed them to blackmail him.
That said, without his leadership, the auto industry & auto parts would have been devastated, bankrupt. Likely we would have hit depression levels with unemployment & that would have also created fear & worry that America was in deep decline, thus hurting our standing worldwide.
He was able to pass stimulus, though a large chunk went for more tax cuts.
He got healthcare passed.
With his leadership, bin Laden is no longer a threat.
The stock market has been rising & businesses have been making more profits, though workers salaries have not gone up.
Housing is finally moving up, I heard this morning on the radio, Toll Bros is doing great, up 54% & business hasn't been this good since 2007.
Businesses have created 4.4 million new jobs over the past 29 months, including 500,000 new manufacturing jobs.
We finally have some new regulations, we need more. We need the Glass Steagall act reinstated.
There is more to be done, and with Obama we have a chance to do more.
If Romney/Ryan are elected, this all changes.
Their goal, get rid of regulation. Cut capital gains taxes, cut corporate taxes, spend more on military.
They act as if they are ready to go to war with Iran & recreate a Cold War with Russia & dare China, even though they are holding much of our debt.
They want to cut spending, on the backs of the poor & elderly, even though they say they care about the 'fetus', once born, screw you...
They want to add justices to the Supreme Court to end Roe Vs Wade.
They want to repeal healthcare.
They offer a bleak future... more like going backward with the old Bush policies.
They actually make the case to reelect Obama! moving forward!
DO SOMETHING!
