I believe VG was referencing the fluctuations in estimated ppd as generated by v7 in some instances. While still a little buggy (it's still officially beta) I think most new and indeed many established folders as well would prefer v7 to anything preceding it, especially from an installation standpoint when cpu's and gpu's are mixed. Multiple gpu's in the past were a joyous nightmare, the joy solely derived from the accomplishment of finally beating the thing Propeller

Anyway, it was the larger ppd flucuations that sent him back seeking the known stability of FahSpy, a third-party monitoring tool.

Not sure I'm following all you guys are saying. I'm running V7 on the fast desktop and backed off to
V6 on some laptops. It's running mostly as smooth as silk on the desktop. When something goes wrong, I just reboot and don't have to set anything as it resumes where it left off except for Precision X to reset the fan speed. Don't need that other progress tool you mentioned.

Runs and show progress on BOTH SMP & GPU, but every once in a while I find only one running. Don't know why that happens but I suspect bad WU treatment. Solution is just to reboot and both are running again.

The Work Units it runs sre different ... not sure if they give higher points but can't tell as comparing apples with oranges.
