The idea that Republicans are somehow immune to the "dependency culture" is a myth requiring Stage 4 Cognitive Dissonance to fully embrace. The numerous examples of classical Republican voters that blow this whole myth out of the water include:

Every Republican farmer who has ever recieved government mortgage assistance, business loans, and/or farm subsidies.

Every Republican business owner that got off the ground with the help of an SBA loan.

Every Republican that has ever worked, directly or indirectly, on a government contract.

Every Republican whose education was funded at least in part by a federally-guaranteed student loan.

Every Republican with ownership or investment interest in any company that recieves special tax breaks (i.e. oil / gas).

Every Republican who got one of those $600 checks from George W. Bush, paid for with borrowed money that is buried in the stack of the other national debt that the Republicans were proud enough to display during the convention.

Every Republican whose savings are FDIC insured.

Every Republican that has ever collected unemployment in the course of searching for a new job.

Every Republican that has ever drawn a paycheck, pension, or other compensation from a government job.

Every Republican that has ever collected Medicare.

Every Republican that has ever collected Social Security.

And so forth. Let me know when you pull your head out.
