don't know how they'll react. to be honest, i tend to think bible thumpers have no more integrity than your average person. and the ones on the podiums a lot less.
people are generally prone to believe in grand ideas in line with their prejudices and they are often careless about checking them for accuracy. republicans are practically self-selecting fact-free dogmatics at this point. haven't found one of them with evidential support for their weird theories in spite of trying.
so these folks will likely believe what they are told.
but the major effort at damage limitation on multiple television channels tells you they see the risk. ryan's main asset is his supposed integrity. lose that and all he is left with is a strange resemblance to a blue-eyed black lemur.
