They are still trying to pretend Ryan was telling the truth when he implied the Janesville, Wisconsin plant closed on Obama's watch, in spite of the fact it closed in 2008 before he became President. Incredible.
On Matthews, a Republican spokesman said Obama promised to "reopen" the Janesville plant. Thus, Obama didn't do what he promised.
Here's the actual Obama quote: "I know that General Motors received some bad news yesterday, and I know how hard your governor has fought to keep jobs in this plant. But I also know how much progress you've made -- how many hybrids and fuel-efficient vehicles you're churning out. And I believe that if our government is there to support you, and give you the assistance you need to re-tool and make this transition, that this plant will be here for another hundred years."
Hmmm. Another Republican lie to justify Ryan's lie.
Why not just admit the truth? - Because obvious liars are toxic in politics.
