In an exclusive to the Brooklyn Bridge News Service, The United States Treasury Department and the Bureau of the debt have joined forces to try to recover the one and one half billion dollars that was poured into the 2002 Olympic games in an effort to rescue those games.

In an announcement this afternoon at one pm EDT Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner stated that the treasury department had been quietly negotiating for the Mitt Romney campaign and Romney in particular to stop taking credit for rescuing the games. After man y failed attempts to get the campaign to cease and desist, the treasury department has decided to bill Romney for the 1.5 billion that was allocated and appropriated for the games in lieu of private donations which fell far short of paying for the games facilities in Salt Lake City. Since this would have been an embarrassment for the United States the government made the decision to, in effect, bail the games out. This runs contrary to Romney's assertions, made both openly and with his tacit permission, that he single handedly saved the games all by himself.

Geithner also announced that apparently a planted mole inside of the treasury department had notified Romney in advance so that he could shift all of his assets to places outside of the United States where the freeze order on those assets would not apply. Geithner specifically mentioned places like Switzerland, Bermuda, and most particularly the Cayman Islands. It was revealed that, other than his real property consisting of houses and some other items, that the only things the government was able to put a lean on successfully were two accounts totalling thirteen thousand dollars. In a related development, the two financial institutions which were served papers on are now asking Romney to return two premium gifts given in exchange for the accounts--a food processor and an advanced style Mr. Coffee!

The Romney campaign has not returned inquiries as to what they intend to do about this development. The Treasury department has stated that the only thing acceptable to them is a publically held news conference widely announced in which Mitt Romney gives credit for the saving of the games to the people of the United States who footed approximatly five dollars each to total the 1.5 billion that saved the games.
