I think Romney's Medicare solution is to issue vouchers, so folks will have to pay a part of their bills themselves. No cost controls, so they'll let the insurance companies run up costs as high as they like and "let the market decide" health outcomes. Which is to say, poor elderly people will be let go.

As regards social security, not sure at this point.

The question is whether incrementals have bearing.

Does an incremental effect of "energizing the base" have an effect. I believe it does. Does the incremental effect of Willie Horton have an effect, I believe it does.

So, folks seek wee bits, Ryan speaking towards an inevitablity of radical change ... it could sell.

The Big Dog saying, really, we don't need to get crazy, our tax code walked away from sensibility and we probably need to make some adjustments.

but we don't need to hand SSN and Medicare to investment bankers as out only solution (which is the Ryan solution no?)
