The best and the brightest eschew dress code, make a train wreck of grammar, and fly a foreign flag when running as the candidate of the more nationalistic major party.

These, my friends, are the smart guys.

Now I know I can't say what I want, so I'll pop is some asterisks, buy holey f**k.

I know profanity shows a lack of imagination and blah blah blah, but sometimes what it does is capture a 1000 words in 2.

Marginal literacy and dismissal of dress code .. where? At a greatful dead concert ... no, at a southern debutant ball, no ... at the US. Military with ca. cabinate level generals in attendance.

I have been implicitly mocked for this stand as some sort of never seen California conformist. Ahem. Dig Space. The conformist. Dig Space, all starchy and of nothing but suits and ties.

Wow.

Talking about seeing what you want to see and simply redefining that which is.

(o.k., my bad, I made that about me for a bit, but crap ... DS, the party line conformist? I admit I lack breakthrough imagination, and fail at really standing a box on its end ... but conformist?!. geez. shouldn't a conformist be able to find at least three people they agree with?) whew, rant-off.

The hurricane thingy (god's will) seems to want the other guy. The hurricane stuffed 2 components of the Romney rehabilitation message into one. Day one: Ann and how he loves women. Day two: Mitt and how he is an unapologetic super achiever. The two, back to back, played like full-sauce K.C BBQ and super delicate sushi-thins on the same plate.
I can cook.

That is not how one serves.

Seems god has issues with these guys. (S)he is certainly doing his best to train wreck their message.

In the end they are simply going to muddle through the choreography of which the likely place high hopes.

THe other side is going to roll out Bill. Bill is going to say we have faced challenges before, we made some pay more, we made some do more, and we got surpluses out of the deal.

It will be intersting to see whether Christie's "we don't apologize" or Bill's "o.k, looks like we need a little more here and a little less there" is going to sell best.

I may be mistaken, but I think, left and right alike, have a bit of nostalgia for the Big Dog.

We all know if Clinton was running, he would win in a landslide. There is not a living or dead recent Republican we can say that about (Bush I, Bush II, Cheney, Dole, Kemp, Gingrich, Rice, Quayle ...)

seriously, ANY of these guys against the Big Dog ... Bill Clinton.

Kinda sucks when your fantasy of the antithesis of your vision is the strongest political figure left standing.

He would shred ANYBODY today.

When has that last happened?

He's the keynote.

Is there a point where one is demonstrably unfit for the complexities of the Presidency?

I'm not measuring fair or right, I'm measuring an ability to deal with what is.
