We were gone yesterday so this is our first chance to respond to this post.

"Racism is simply the belief that one race is better than all the other races."

The definition of racism is racial discrimination or persecution, not simply a feeling. As an example of that remember all of the lynchings in the south after the Civil War and what happened to six million Jews from 1933 through 1945 in Germany.

"I've known plenty of liberals who are just as guilty of that as conservatives."

This is one of the bizzare statements that we have read recently.

One other comment. Just looking in the audience at the Republican National Convention last night shows just how white it really was.

Racism is simply the belief that one race is better than all the other races. I've known plenty of liberals who are just as guilty of that as conservatives. Repubs certainly don't have monopoly on it.

It's sad when that becomes the primary political tool of a person/party/political movement, though.

You can bet that if presidents were elected 'blind' - if no one knew what they looked like, and no mention of race/religion/gender was made - the results would be different.
