several members of the Maine delegation walked out of the Tampa Bay Times Forum after the convention affirmed the GOP’s decision to replace 10 of Maine’s 24 delegates.
“It’s a disgusting, disgusting display of a hostile takeover from the top down,” said Ashley Ryan, 21, a Maine delegate. “It’s an embarrassment.”
All Republicans should boycott the November elections, and hand the White House and Congress firmly to the Democrats. This will send a message to the self-declared Fuhrers in the GOP that we the Republican voters refuse to accept or support candidates not of our own choosing. Either the Republican party learns respect for Republican voters, or it should vanish and make way for a new party more responsive to the people. This is, as far as I can tell, the only non-violent option we have left.
