much of it, yes. i only recommend the ones i have. just seemed a neat fit. it begins with john locke's idea that we begin life as a blank slate, and then essentially says we are to a great extent what we inherit. and the implications of that.
pinker is quite dense with examples, so i tend to go slowly. but you always learn amazing things. i recently purchased his "better angels of our nature" and will doubtless find some interesting stuff in that as well.
the patch of knowledge between things like game theory, communitarianism and altruistic evolutionary behaviours have redefined my politics in favour of a reasonable distribution between individualism and cooperation. that's what i think the independent us ideal involves. pinker is in my happy zone.
