Taliban Behead 17 Partygoers

Seventeen Afghan civilians were beheaded by the Taliban in a horrific attack, a punishment meted out on their countrymen for attending a music event in southern Afghanistan. The Taliban slaughtered the men and women to demonstrate their disapproval for a night of music and dancing, said an official in the area. The area where the attacks occurred is said to be controlled completely by the Taliban. Two American soldiers were shot and killed by a member of the Afghan military on Monday, making a total of 12 American troops to die in such attacks this month.
