It may well be among the top 5 discoveries of the last 1000 years.
To me, it is the number one discovery. But I am born of a world of genetic understanding, I am born of fluency in Mendel and Darwin, these were truths to me from day one.
But that we massively hemorrhage genotype so late in the process, the window for selection at that stage, and are dismissal of so many events as "environment" is earth shattering.
Does anybody get what this might mean?
