The resources for One liver transplant, ONE, would catapoult a whole large city into a land of comfortable eating, being able to read, and otherwise function in the most basic sense.

crap. good, done with that.

fluoride: a dentist observed that he had a group of patients that while having occasionally brown spots on their teeth, simply never got cavities. Further exploration recognized they had unusual levels of fluoride in their well water. Further experiments were performed to determine if the level of fluoride could be modulated to eliminate the side effect (browning, a fluorosis of sorts) while maintaining the benefits (prevention of tooth decay). The results were conclusive, fluoridation is the result. It is a simply case of an observant health care provider and solid follow up.

The leading causes of morbidity and discomfort in the US, in its elderly populations, are dental and vision. We spend billions on all sorts of things were a few million on teeth and eyes would bring the greatest satisfaction.

The two leading causes of discomfort most cited are the two for which there is little or no health care coverage.

So, we will transplant a liver, but not give you glasses or clean your teeth.

You want to make people happy? Top flight vision and dental care.
