Dig, I think Barge has had it right for years: there is a bunch that were/are sucked into "group think." They toe the lime. As in "a few good men" they are afraid of the truth, refuse to hear it. They simply don't want to be "saved" but rather left alone w/ their total confidence in their CEO and the tech. It's sadly very naive but entrenched. Anything "negative" about their CEO just receives a barrage of tossed rotting garbage. A growing minority sees the disconnect but it's insufficient to overcome the "group think" and their missiles. They are not competent enough "to get it;" it's not just all about the tech.
I am going to go back and delete all of my content from 09538 forward, please feel free to make copies first.
I think me going into how i think engineers are stuck in a rut is perfectly fine discourse. If you are inclined to challenge me on my credentials for evaluating a talk, fair enough.
