Hi doma,
"History shows us that all FIAT currencies have ultimately been mishandled into hyperinflation & outright theft by the central banks that issued them & the governments that enforced them....."
That is what you keep saying.
But you used to put a 40 year limit on the survival of fiat money. I note that the US dollar became a fiat currency in 1971. And it is still thriving 41 years later.
The variable is monetary policy. If it is managed badly, it will ruin any economy. But when it is done well, as it has been by Ben Bernanke, it can help ameliorate the kind of problem created by, for instance, fixing a currency against the value of a volatile commodity such as gold.
The difficulty with managing monetary policy well is that really, modern theories of how to manage it are not all that ancient.
