Last count I saw said 11 shot, 2 deceased (including gunman, I believe).
Apparently, it was a disgruntled ex-employee that did the initial shooting - killing his former boss. He was confronted by, and opened fire on, police officers, who killed him with return fire. Thank you, NYPD, for saving the tax payers the expense of a long, drawn-out trial (and jail time).
According to Mayor Bloomberg, several of the other victims may have been innocent bystanders shot by police. Currently, investigators are trying to determine who was shot by whom.
And never to be one to pass up an opportunity to dance in the blood of the fallen, Mayor Bloomberg railed on about how evil guns are, as well.

What is the point of rules that are not enforced?
