the thing is, if Huck and others succeed in purging establishment and purifying the message, they will achieve the marginal status that they demographically represent.

It will be the party of 30%.

Go Huck!!

ok clo, so I finally clicked through on the link.

Huck is right. They are eating their own because he is, rather accidentally, what they say.

They say these things to cater to the social-right. They couldn't give a flying monkey about abortion or rape or any of these silly things. Its about tax-cuts and dismantling government.

But shi ... stuff happens and every once in a while they get somebody who isn't lying, and he speaks up at the wrong time ,,, heading into a general election against a less than repulsive incumbent.

Whip up the frenzy, and guess what you get.

The southern strategy wasn't conjured by a bunch o racists, they simply used racism. The Republican establishment isn't about abortion or rape, they just use it.

But they have a short fuse with such hubris spilling over to a presidential general election the week before a convention.

You make your bed, you sleep in it.

But Huck is correct on everything he says on this.
