President Obama has a 9 point lead in Pennsylvania in a new poll — another sign that the state is not particularly competitive this cycle.
Obama beats Romney 49 to 40 percent among likely voters according to a new Allentown Morning Call/Muhlenberg College poll. His showing comes despite 47 percent of voters expressing disapproval of him.
Still, Romney's favorability ratings are much lower than Obamas. Thirty-seven percent of voters have a favorable impression of Romney, while 33 percent have a favorable view of Paul Ryan. Obama has a 48 percent approval rating.
"Nine points is a very good place to be going in to the conventions," said Chris Borick, Muhlenberg College pollster, according to the Morning Call.
The survey polls 422 likely voters and has a margin of error of +/- 5 percent.
