Also, I wonder how you measure belief. What about those people who believe, and then die? Or who don't believe, and then survive?
I've wondered about these "miraculous" cures, but my guess has always been that something like a virus has attacked the cancer, or perhaps the absence of a specific chemical in someone's system has changed the playing field for the immune system, or perhaps a lack of oxygen kills the pathogen first - or some such thing. There's a lot we don't understand without needing to assign a miracle to it.
