tweaking i agree with. but these things go into and out of balance depending on the economy.
the real problem is the spectacular growth of medical costs, which consume 16% of gdp rather than the 10% they reasonably should. imagine a us without that burden and many things will be well.
so restructure that industry and put pressure on medical costs so they gradually reduce over time.
and stimulate this economy back into life. build useful infrastructure. it works.
