If your principles are so strong and can afford to pass on it that's wonderful, but not fiscally responsible - which you are. Nothing immoral there; anti principle, perhaps. I really don't think "people.... give up their....right to achieve.." They accept it, as I have, because they paid into it, counted on it and feel deserving. That said, I understand it is not a self sustaining program - I paid for my parents and my children and their friends are paying for me. It must be changed soon. But nothing will change w/ obstructionism, it requires compromise. God forbid the Senate Dems ever decide to emulate the GOP and obstruct everything via filibuster. Their natural style is to seek compromise but they're learning from the obstructionist. Golf, love to.
