Hi micro,

My sister arrived here. She says she has two bulging disks, probably L3 & L4. Pain sometimes goes down leg. Will take mild pain killer on occasion but tries to avoid. Takes a regular swimming class for therapy where she walks back and forth in the pool to loosen up and says it helps. She won't give advice though I pressed her because she says everyone is different. She also has osteo-arthritis and I probably have a mild case as well.

Every morning (just about) I lean over to stretch and give a mild massage to my middle back to loosen up the tight muscles. (I use water on my hands as an easy lube.) That definitely helps me especially if I've been doing yard work the previous day. Another exercise I do is to lie on the floor and pull knee-to-chest to flatten my lower back. It's a simple stretch. I also can pull gently on a doorknob or the door edge with both hands as I lean over. That doesn't mean these would work for you, but it does help me loosen those tight back muscles.

I know she used to take long walks as exercise but had to stop. Now she tells me she is talking with her doctor about resuming which might help. If you have any questions, give them a try and I can ask her.

well
it has been a long day.
Still no relief except that area is even more sore due to the nature of the two injections put directly into the epicenter.

Hurts like the devil to stand up and walk.

Doc said in a couple days I should start to feel pretty good. Apparently a lot of steroid was in that epidural spinal shot. When I saw the size of that syringe and needle I nearly fainted.

Hope to have a better report in a couple days. IN the meantime I'll keep taking the pain meds.

I have a follow up appointment scheduled already for the 22nd.

I guess if this works by then it is routine.
If it doesn't, we'll be talking about when to schedule the surgery.

Hopefully this works. I am rooting for sooner.

Just thought I'd write and let you know it is over and I am waiting for this medicine to kick in and work it's magic.

Talk to y'all later!

micro....
