Romney hood!

Yesterday, in a fundraiser in the state of Connecticut, president Barack Obama coined a new term when he compared Mitt Romney’s tax plan with the old tale of Robin of Loxley, otherwise known as Robin hood. As so many know, Robin hood took from the rich and gave to the poor under the weight of a corrupt surrogate king of England as he operated out of Sherwood Forest with his merry band of men and at least one woman who helped them out--Maid Marianne. What has provoked this discussion is a study done by an independent tax review center who took a hypothetical plan similar to what Mitt Romney has proposed and ran it through computer programs. What they discovered was that in order for the Romney plan to work in the form that it has been proposed, the average taxpayer would have up to a 2000 dollar additional tax burden laid upon them in order for those making over three million dollars a year a tax cut approaching 250,000 dollars a year. Mitt Romney has proposed such a thing as he follows every Republican except George H.W. Bush in proposing large tax cuts in order to stimulate the economy and cause the entrepreneurial class to expand and to hire more workers, thus increasing economic output for the nation as a whole.

Back during the first term of Ronald Wilson Reagan, this idea of trickle down economics was first tried and it supposedly did, for a while, stimulate the economy and many more jobs were created in his first two years in office. The idea of lowering taxes has been around since Barry Goldwater ran for president in 1964 and it was probably arrived at as part of a neoconservative plan to destroy the ability of the federal government in the United States to continue to fund the welfare state that was begun under Franklin D. Roosevelt with the passage of the social security act and other welfare legislation that has come in the years since that time. We will never really know the extent of the plans that were laid in these secret meetings that were supposedly held among those who met back in those days after the Goldwater disaster of 1964. However, we have seen the results that have come about after the neoconservatives began their long clime to take over the Republican party that came to fruition in Reagan’s election in the fall of 1980. Ever since that time, the one hallmark of neoconservative dominance has been the caveat that taxes must be lowered when any one of them takes the office of president of the United States. In this regard, the otherwise seemingly moderate Romney is towing the line that has been followed by people such as George W. Bush who’s tax cuts practically destroyed the nation from their implementation in 2001 through to this very day. To accomplish their goals, people like Grover Norquist of the Tax Foundation have seen that the tax reduction line is towed to the extent that almost every conservative of note in office or seeking office has signed a pledge never to raise taxes again in their lifetimes. So, although we cannot prove that there is some sort of pact that has been in place for decades now, we do see the results of it everyday as neoconservatives, through their governance and their postulances, carry on this idea that will, if carried to its ultimate fruition, destroy this governments ability to do anything other than maintain a very heavy military influence across this nation and across this world at large.

It should be noted that the United States spends more on defense than the next fifteen nations combined!

We have no real idea what Mitt Romney might actually do as president of the a United States because he has been on all sides of so many issues from health care to gun control. He is not a real favorite of the neoconservative right because of these facts but they have extracted out of him this idea that he will follow the faithful in his idea of lowering taxes once again. And, just looking at the brief evidence we have from his own tax returns, he has used every available tax avoidance scheme available to keep his own taxes as low as possible. The fact that Romney will not release any other tax returns before 2010 has fueled much speculation that he has something to hide in his own returns and he has stated as much when he has stated that releasing his returns would only give the left leaning democrats more fodder to misrepresent what he has done in the past. Since the Democrats have simply stated the truth in his tax returns we see no possibility than the fact that they would only continue to do so in the future. The question is, simply stated: What does Mitt Romney not want us to see in his tax returns? The Republicans have attacked people like Senate majority leader Harry Reid for stating that he has heard that Romney paid no taxes at all for ten years and Romney has responded that he paid a lot of taxes, but, we still have no proof of that fact. It shows how much the world has changed since George Romney began the practice of releasing multiple years of tax returns back in his own run for the presidency back in 1968 when his son Mitt was but twenty one years old. At that time, the elder Romney was not affected by the secret meetings that had already been held by the newly conceived neoconservative Republican movement, however, it is an interesting contrast that his son has not only been affected by the movement but has, on the surface anyway, bought into one of their chief tenants of operation. It has been estimated that the Romney plan would add another four trillion dollars to the national debt as approximately that amount of money, if not going into the nations tax coffers, would, supposedly be transferred to the already bulging coffers of the already very, very, very, rich. It has been estimated that the surviving members of Sam Walton’s family already are worth more than the bottom forty percent of the nation as more and more people are approaching poverty as the very rich become more and more wealthy as time continues to pass by. It has also been estimated that fifty percent of the population of this nation do not even have ten thousand dollars in savings and little more laid back for retirement.

So, we have the results pouring in from this plan that has been laid out so very long ago by those anonymous souls whose idea was to seize the government and roll back all that has been done since Franklin Roosevelt came into office during the last great depression. And, as we look at the financing of this election, we see their decedents funding the completion of what was started back in 1964. The very rich are going to try their very best to put one of their own into the White House and make Romney hood a reality for the rest of us. At least now, it finally has a name!

IOVHO,

Regards,

Joe
