The newest Mars exploration vehicle has landed. It's the size of a car, is nuclear powered, and is scheduled to last two years, if things go right. Cost: $7 per US citizen.
I see that the lunatic right is up in arms about this, never mind the technological progress that could flow to everyone (nuclear powered cars?) as so much has from past NASA history, that $7 is IMPORTANT, I tell you.
Meanwhile, not a peep about the $12,000 per citizen pooched away into the sands of Iraq and Afghanistan, because that's the heroic military blowing stuff up and reloading, and that's what has made America great.
$7 for research, $12,000 for war. Sounds about right, don't you think?
