No. The failure of the cybersecurity legislation isn't bad. It doesn't affect the DoD opportunity. Or so we are told.
But no one suggested it does. The cybersecurity legislation was aimed at getting companies in sensitive industries to adopt minimum security standards.
The fact that even a voluntary government standard will not be adopted is, of course, a problem. We have already witnessed the speed of adoption to an industry standard.
So the opportunity beyond the DoD is deferred - at best. But perhaps not lost. As this matter has to be addressed at some point.
Wonder why the folks at Wave are incapable of delivering a slightly nuanced message. Such as - yes this is disappointing, but we have a large opportunity in front of us and there are other avenues for us to proceed along.
