Republicans plan to destroy the public protections provided by government. They plan to do so by arguing that the budget is inadequate to support them, while meanwhile undermining the government's means of raising income by lowering taxes on the wealthy as much as they can. Inequality rules.
But they won't say so for fear of alienating independent voters.
The target is the New Deal. And some of these right wingers blame the poor for the fact they don't have a job, citing Depression era folks (remember, the folks who introduced the New Deal) as cover. Breathtaking, when you consider it. I'd skidaddle myself rather than try to defend this view.
Love the folks on the far right who think their assumptions are centrist.
