I wonder if they include the House of Saud in the numbers. SA sure appears almost limitlessly wealthy. And yet it isn't obvious from the numbers.

I certainly agree with the point, but nerveless find the Israel Saudi comparison to be a rather interesting one.

Part of it is I never imagined SA to have so many folks running around there. Having never been to that part of the world I always envisioned a big empty desert.

In some ways one might be better served to look at per cap income as opposed to GDP, the countries switch around a fair bit if one does, although Israel and SA maintain their relative positions.
