Why did the writer just stop at Lemmo ... upper management bought, at much higher prices, earlier this year too.

Terry Clontz bought 10,000 shares @ $36.43 spending $364,300,

Bill Merritt bought 6,828 shares @ $36.52 spending $249,359,

and Janet Point bought 1,500 @ $36.29 spending $54,435.

No one has sold during the run up last year and down. No one sold in excess of their tax obligations from options.

Bargain Bin Stocks: IDCC Now 31% Cheaper Than Lemmo's Buy

There’s an old saying on Wall Street about insider buying: there are many possible reasons to sell a stock, but only one reason to buy. Back on January 30, Interdigital Inc ‘s EVP, Corp.& Bus. Development, Mark A. Lemmo, invested $85,117.50 into 2,250 shares of IDCC, for a cost per share of $37.83. Bargain hunters tend to pay particular attention to insider buys like this one, because presumably the only reason an insider would take their hard-earned cash and use it to buy stock of their company in the open market, is that they expect to make money.
