Great Trip, but it's the getting there and getting back that the pain... And like other trips, we seem to drag head colds back with us.. Left Moscow Sunday around 1330, but with allthe checks and rechecks, we started the day at 0630, Sunday, but didn't get home, after a stop in Frankfurt, until near midnight last night... over 24 hours, plus I lost count of the checks, rechecks.. By the time we clears SFO Customs, I could have hugged the agent, so much simpler, nicer, and told him so, he got a kick out of it he saud after all the grumps he sees all the time, so the others made the US look great... Many pics, have to gather 'em up, some from the iPhone4 which turned out the handiest, simple to pop onto the Family FB Group, keep them up to date, just left it in Airplane mode, only WiFi active..
Anyway, a beautiful country, so many beautiful people, friendly people, lots of reminders of old time, as Soviet, but tons of new modern buildings, tons of cars, most all foreign, as their Ladda has a pretty bad reputation... From Escalades to VW's.. the full range.. Massive traffic jams in both St Pete & Moscow... Interesting trip... It was an eye opener, our guides were young and old, the older lived through the had time, gladly discuss it all... All were amazing fountains of knowledge, of their art, history, politics, social situations, times are a changin'... All for the better it seems... If only they could streamline their passport control!
