Poor old China. Last on the ALEA Olympic gold medal per capita (m) table as usual. Hey at least they made the list. The next 50 of the top 60 did worse.

Cos I am measuring winners, not second, third or fourth placers.

Obscure factoid, but have you noticed that the US lists victory by all medals and most other countries list them gold first, silver second etc.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/olympics/2012/medals/countries

So folks in the US generally think they were top of the 2008 Olympic medals table, whereas elsewhere they think China won.

1 China (CHN) 51 gold 21 silver 28 bronze 100 total
2 United States (USA) 36 gold 38 silver 36 bronze 110 total

Whereas I think Australia won, as usual - using my population based model.
