I would say the analyst reports do matter, in the short term, because any negativity is seized upon to drive the price lower. There are a lot of traders in this stock, a lot. You can talk about the short term affect, but regardless, when the major events occur I would like for us to start our lift off from a point higher on the hill rather than like we did with the Intel sale starting from the ridiculously low price of $23.
The analysts not being on their game, either not reporting their estimate changes or being sloppy/deliberate with expense calculations, causes perceived earnings misses which result in Bangalore headlines causing unnecessary declines. If we technically missed last Q, we had better have headlines without asterisks saying we blew the fucking roof of Q3 earnings.
I also expected more from Barclay's. Their analysis and coverage is the quality of a recent hire out of university with a proficiency for Microsoft Excel. I'm surprised Kvaal's assistant wasn't even on this call. I see nothing new in their analysis and can point out countless mistakes. I mean honestly, they've lowered their price target three times in the last month!? That's bush league. I can't see any benefit they have provided publicly since they initiated coverage except for maybe leaking to Cramer that they planned to cover causing him to surprisingly do that 10 minute piece recommendation of IDCC. Barclay's may have initially bamboozled us with a high interest rate on their debt but hopefully we will reciprocate and return cheaply purchased shares with that money when they excerise their warrants at much higher prices.
Also, we have recently secured a new license. A tech agreement which we will learn more about soon ...
