I never said that there was anything illegal or even unethical about Willard avoiding paying taxes through the use of legitimate loopholes and deductions, just that it's the REASON that he does NOT want the voters to see his tax returns.

It would be hard to explain how a multi-millionaire (perhaps even a BILLIONAIRE) manages to avoid paying any or very little taxes year after year while at the same time making the claim that the rich are already paying too much taxes and is promising, if elected, to cut or eliminate taxes on capital gains, dividends, corporations, while reducing the top marginal tax rates which will ONLY benefit others like himself and his contributors. As long as the tax returns are secret, he can ignore having to address questions about this apparent hypocrisy. But if they are out there in black & white...

I do not see anywhere in the IRS form instructions or in the tax law where it says "losses are deductible against income, unless you are a taxpayer who is running for political office and you do not hold the same opinions as oldCADuser." Do you?
