Thanks for letting us know, Micro, as you say good news and bad news. Electrical surges on the cause or no idea, just one (or two) of those things? Glad you're at least back up on the folding front. I have you outdone btw, I have a stripped down ver of XPSP2 driving SMP and GPU on you guessed it, a 4.3 gig drive. Back in the day of course that was an absolute monster and cost an arm and a leg. I'm not 103 years old, either. :-)

The hard drive was failing. I tested it and it din;t pass the reading features.

Then I grabbed what I thought was a perfectly good spare hard drive from my office to replace said drive.

I installed windows 7 on it. It was time to reboot after installing and guess what? It wouldn't. Then I tested it and it too is bad.

So, I grabbed a crummy 8.4 GB old hard drive.

Tested it first.

It works and passes test. So I got my operating system on it and it is folding away both GPU and SMP.

So now I am awaiting replacement drives in the mail.

I also discovered my 8 GB flash drive went dead as well.

Not a banner day as far as hardware went.

Great day because my folders are up and running again.

the best,

micro....
