Yep. One only has to visit certain foreign countries (Hong Kong, Singapore) to truly grasp how badly the United States has already slipped. Visit others - Chile and Panama, for instance, to see countries we recently scoffed at that are on the ascent.
The U.S. is an empire in decline. Until that is widely understood, policies that desperately need changing aren't going to change.
I wonder if ObamaDon'tCare isn't possibly just a DIVERSION to keep the public from being aware of our economic woes. The country obviously can't afford it. But if we pass the law and act as if we CAN, perhaps everyone will think that things are fine.
I think there's a chance that it won't ever be fully implemented. How can it? Where is the money going to come from? ObamaDon'tCare is FAR more expensive than the Communists led us to believe, and the attempts to take it from the wealthy will further collapse the economy... creating still greater fiscal shortfalls.
