mjan112, on some recent travels overseas I really enjoyed these Geraldine Brooks novels:

Caleb's Crossing (based on the life of Caleb Cheeshahteaumauk, the first Native American to graduate from Harvard College)

Year of Wonders (a young woman's battle to save fellow villagers as well as her own soul when the bubonic plague suddenly strikes her small Derbyshire village of Eyam)

this being a smart board and all, is there a really good historical fiction book? I am headed on an extended trip for work and might like to get some reading in during my travels?
