It is ultimately a wealth transfer,

somebody who bought 1% of the company at $5 will see their 1% eroded by those who buy 1% of the company at 70 cents.

It is the reward paradigm that management and the BoD follow ... don't be so foolish as to go long, structure things in terms of refreshing options and happy talk to people to get them to fund your salary.

To be honest, I am rather disgusted by the attitude expressed volubly elsewhere that we should be happy at the opportunity.

The opportunity is had at the expense of THE VAST MAJORITY of owners of the stock, whose shares are practically-speaking now worth very little.

Looks a bit different when you look to the future and find happiness in the misery of the decisions made by today's purchasers.
