And by the way, I do see that Wave has made its loyalists look naive more than once. eg recently over atm suppression and use. and eg over the claim that the ceo would submit to investor pressure re directors after the vote - and indeed, the door to that discussion was firmly closed yesterday.
But I also see a perception of loyalty and a sense of long run self-interest as the key dynamics here - and not something nefarious. Even if I sometimes disagree that some Wave investors are expressing their loyalty to the company wisely. I do think loyalty to the family and the interests of the company get intertwined in a way that is troubling. Finding a way to show that these things are different is one of the challenges of the conversation.
One reason this board came into existence was as a place to share thoughts which challenge the simple, optimistic, genius view of the company - and indeed, its opposite - and that appear excessively restricted elsewhere.
Maybe I am also naive for thinking nothing else is in play. Certainly, some folks don't always help themselves avoid criticism by making robust statements they cannot possibly support. but equally, this board will not survive the pressures of being turned into a sort of courtroom. ab wavx serves that purpose to an extent.
So I am trying to preserve this board's humble purpose, which is that here, at least, folks can make challenging, balanced or novel assessments on a variety of subjects.
