Hi Cf, it's really just a matter of time before the southeast states rebuff republicanism. Migration, immigration and education will eventually end the republican strongholds of bigotry and the religious right formed by Nixon's "southern strategy." The midwest conservative farm belt religious right coalition will take an additional generation at least,if ever.

True.

I was thinking living like an Afghan or a Somali might cure anyone of the desire for anarchy.

But truth is, some kind of structure normally imposes itself - whether it is the order of Islam or of guns or whatever. And then it can be hard to reverse course into a rule of law model.

Even so, that seems to be the thing they hanker after and seek to impose on the rest of the country. Why should everyone else be held to ransom?
