AT the DAQ OMX 28th Investor Program presentation in London this morning, Bill said the way the patent sale to Intel should be measured is not by the number of patents and applications sold (1,700) but instead the US patents and applications that were sold. Only 200 of the 1,700 were US patents and applications. Therefore, each US patent were sold for an average price of $1.875 Million each. Comparatively, the Nortel sale included 3,653 US patents sold for an average price of $1.232 Million each.

If one was to assume that a single US patent is included in each of the four families sold earlier this year, at $9 Million, InterDigital received $2.25 Million per US patent.
Bill in the presentation said that the Company, compared to the current patent sales in the market, got very good prices in their sales. Looking at the numbers, at the end of the day [drink], he was making an understatement!
