hi dig,

i think it is hard for a person with an evidential, results-based mindset to keep believing in a story that lacks measurements or proof.

it's the wool that drives me nuts, at least. a governance structure that seems to make no demands. a strategy which shifts away from current products to new projects as if current success never matters. a harbour devoted to optimism and that provides no resources to shareholders beyond management - so that management itself may not be questioned. lack of any apparent skill at forecasting sales. shareholders who seem to confuse passive acceptance with loyalty.

the folks who are invested in researching the technology see a story unfolding that seems to provide comfort. but i think that particular way of seeing has little to say about the power of incumbency or the timeline of cash flows.

my sense is that cyberspace could use a trust matrix. that's always been my long term view. but this story is about getting from a to b. and that is a much harder thing. it sometimes seems that wave will build and build and build forever, but that on the other side of the equation, night after night, some cyber-penelope unpicks whatever progress they think they are making during the day.

my perception of management only worsens over time, not because of anything specific, but just the general gist of their statements, they seem to personify the pot calling the kettle black in their whole "they don't get it mantra" ... the things they so plainly don't get are remarkable in their size and obviousness (unless of course they really are just scoundrels).

I see no path for the current formulation to remedy that, it seems clear to me that no matter what talent the bring on, and what vision they bring on, and what sales force they bring on, and what products they develop, ... they will always suffer under the areas of SKS' weaknesses that the company cannot and will not address.

....

BUT, in a short term sense (measured to Dec 31) WAVX beats the crap out of the broader market. This is based on plums, the effects of which I expect to be transient.
