Coincidentally enough (and wildly so), after weeks if not even months of the affliction of those a_4 WU's (7200?) I see that 24 hours ago I was assigned an 11070! Let's hope that a) it lasts and b) that happens for you too, Micro.

Micro, if that low-production scenario is due to an a_4 core, I have one here as well with the same thing and I just haven't dealt with how to stop it or what's going wrong. I remember some stuff about the flexibility of that core to assign and run either single core or SMP depending on the detected hardware, but here it's indeed running the proper SMP 2-cores, just at ridiculously low returns. Haven't spent the time required to know more, but try a search over at the other place.

Yes yes yes on the spare parts to house a video card. Run it without the case if need be, it's summer. :=) Does barebones XP need 2 gig RAM to run and do nothing but run folding? Folding sure doesn't need much. When I'm in the situation like that, I just decide I'm spending x on a part and I'm not buying the part until I get it for x. If it's 3 months later, then that's the way she goes. This would particularly apply in the case of video cards, with new stuff always putting more downward pressure on used stuff.
