Micro, if that low-production scenario is due to an a_4 core, I have one here as well with the same thing and I just haven't dealt with how to stop it or what's going wrong. I remember some stuff about the flexibility of that core to assign and run either single core or SMP depending on the detected hardware, but here it's indeed running the proper SMP 2-cores, just at ridiculously low returns. Haven't spent the time required to know more, but try a search over at the other place.

Yes yes yes on the spare parts to house a video card. Run it without the case if need be, it's summer. :=) Does barebones XP need 2 gig RAM to run and do nothing but run folding? Folding sure doesn't need much. When I'm in the situation like that, I just decide I'm spending x on a part and I'm not buying the part until I get it for x. If it's 3 months later, then that's the way she goes. This would particularly apply in the case of video cards, with new stuff always putting more downward pressure on used stuff.

For some reason, Stanford has given me these work units I have been asking about non-stop.
FAH SPY says I am getting an average of 187 points per day with these things.

They HAVE NO MULTIPLIER for bonus points so all you get is the straight measley amount as I said.

I have no tried unsuccessfully four times to dump the queue, unitinfo, fahlog and even assigned a different machine I.D. number.

I have -SMP 2 flag as an argument.

Still no joy in mudville.

SO, I decided for 187 points a day why bother?

Let the CPU be left alone and run cool and quiet.

I'll see how this goes. I don;t know if FAH-SPY is wrong or not, likely not, but if it is, I'll see about a 3500 PPD drop in my average.

If it was correct, we won;t see ANY change as this unit was not adding anything and I am not tying up this processor for 187 points.

BAP looks like his 680 found some work units he can go to town on! Go BAP!!!

ArVee, team is looking GREAT!!!!!

You should take us all out to dinner someplace nice!

I got my hand on another computer case. I have to examine it and see if it can be can hold a mATX mobo with a pcix16 slot.....

I just happen to have an extra power supply AND for $55.00 can get a motherboard AND a pentium D 930 processor for the guts. I have 1GB of DDR2 800 RAM so would only need one more.

Then its a card.........

I wonder if mrs. micro would kill me ???????

Better off to put this toy in the spare office at work. Something to look forward to later this year perhaps.

Take care teammates! You all are looking amazing to me!!! Very Happy
