something along the lines of Weimar and Nazi Germany is America's future if we remain on the current track.

My thinking as well DE... Too many prying eyes and new restrictions on our everyday life. I do hope we get a "change" we can count on. LOL I think I heard that BEFORE...

Realist - Everybody in America is soft, and hates conflict. The cure for this, both in politics and social life, is the same -- hardihood. Give them raw truth.

re: '"Ireland Is America's Future If Romney Is President"'

I'm not sure what Krugman means by that, but something along the lines of Weimar and Nazi Germany is America's future if we remain on the current track. It will surprise me if Romney takes us in a different direction, but we know for certain that Obummer won't.

Ireland isn't too bad compared to the fate awaiting us if we continue in THIS direction.

Hopefully, there's still some other, better direction to go. I'm not smart enough to find it, though. It would probably require the instillation of an extremely intelligent, benevolent dictator, a la Rome's early Caesars, who repeatedly steered their country through difficult times and then relinquished their power to the Senate. I don't think that's going to happen in America.
