I think that is pretty much what Wave is saying when talking about MS installing TPM driver software.
So instead of only Wave embedding its TPM software via the PC OEM to make TPMs useable, now MS is also doing so via the OS.
Okay.
It's an extra step. But it's a little one, unless it is accompanied by MS' marketing muscle promoting TCG. Instead, I think they will point use of TPMs towards MS' native assets like BitLocker.
I think TCG is proving to lack any real muscle. I find it hard to believe that BitLocker is defined into the CHESS specs, but SEDs are excluded. Why don't companies like Dell and Seagate push their own architectures?
