Hi dig,

I can see a few ways in which scrambls could make sense, even as free software. Unfortunately, these folks have form and I really valued the handcuffs which seemed to have been put on them after the IBM-Intel debacle. Will the expenditure be appropriate to the scale of the opportunity? I doubt it. I sympathise with your frustration.

It seems clear that attention is being diverted in that direction. Many seem willing to follow. Not me, so much. Like you, I want the company to prove one of its old ideas before waltzing in a new direction.

Good point re morale. I'd be pissed, given the comparative lack of any visible marketing push for the ERAS products. Nearly every person who has ever made a comment about trying to get their own company interested in deploying Wave's software has reported back that their own team has not heard of it. That makes things very difficult.

Now it almost seems as if the sales team has been diverted towards getting publicity for scrambls. Odd choice at this juncture.

tkc may be correct - GF's influence is less than it once was. But returning to rule by Famiglia Nostra is scary. Even so, I think GF likely controls the cash requirement calculation in the audited financial statements. And that is the thing I keep my eye on.
