I'd like to send Obama HALFWAY to Mars.
LOL!
There is a Ray Bradbury story I read as a child about two astronauts floating helplessly above in only their suits. Their orbiting ship had been destroyed. They're talking to each other, but eventually drift too far apart. One is destined to leave the solar system, headed for the eternal depths of space.
At the story's end, a mother and child are looking upward from Earth when the child sees a shooting star. "Quickly," the mother urges. "Make a wish!"
It's ironic your post should remind me of that story on this day when Ray Bradbury has died. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/06/07/books/ray-bradbury-popularizer-of-science-fiction-dies-at-91.html?emc=na
