New PUD Bill Payment Policies

The following changes to our bill payment policies effective August 1, 2012:

Late Fee: $10

To cover costs incurred in PUD bill collection efforts, payments received 15 days or more after the due date will be subject to a $10 late fee.

Disconnection Fee: $40

To cover costs incurred while disconnecting a PUD account for non-payment, a $40 disconnection fee will be charged. Current reconnection fees of $40 for next-day service and $80 for same-day will remain unchanged.

Payments at a Customer's Service Address

PUD employees will no longer collect payments at customers' home or premise prior to disconnection of service. This change protects the safety of PUD field workers, reduces bill collection expenses and tightens financial policies for auditing purposes. The new policy is also consistent with electric utility best practices.
