Data Rox-The assumption made by the know it all naysayers on the Debbie Downer board, is that because IDCC did not receive a bid for the company during the SA, that it has an inferior, peripheral, over encumbered, etc. etc. patent portfolio. There are many reasons, none of which includes the above, that the company did not receive a bid, and are just as valid a conclusion. You claim that the companies looked at the portfolio and didn't like what they saw. Can you back this up with fact, or is this just an assumption? For all we know, a company told IDCC that it should sell off non core patents and use the money to buy back shares, and then it would be interested in the entire company. I do value your knowledge in technology and that is the reason that I am directing the question to you. I can't imagine any company opening up their patent portfolio, for all to scrutinize, if they had inferior patents, or a portfolio that wouldn't be of interest to the wireless industry at some point. By the way, do you know how encumbered the Nortel and/or the Motorola patents were relative to the encumberance level of IDCC? I still believe that the portfolio is valuable and that when the timing is right, the company will receive a viable bid somewhere in the $50-70 range. JMO
