All Government bonds & Fiat currency have counter party risk....
ask the Greek Bond holders.........That debt is considered
an asset or a liability,depending on if the bond issuer
can service or pay back that debt.....period.
Physical Gold held outside the banking system has no counter
party risk........it's not somebody else's debt,it's Money as
defined in law............A Government IOU or FRN is not
money it's a debt note,as defined by law........
Now if you want to believe that buying & holding somebody's
debt is Money & the safest asset one can buy......that's
up to you...
Damn, I really have been asleep at the wheel, again, I'm not really exposed much at all, probably have about 10% of things sitting in places I'd rather they weren't, and I would leave little on the table where I to send that into hiding.
